Tell the LongTable assistant about your next event. It proposes the event and its RSVPs, and you confirm once.
Why use it
A first event that people RSVP to is the best proof your club works on LongTable.
It starts from the right kind of event, such as an outdoor trip, a social, a meeting, a race or a class, or from your club’s own saved event template.
It asks only for what it’s missing, in one question.
Plan an event
Select the sparkle button at the bottom right of any screen.

Say what you’re planning: “Set up the season opener on Saturday the 15th at the lodge.”
Answer its question, if it has one. It asks for anything missing, such as the date, start time or place, all at once.
Check the preview: the title, the date and time, the place, whether RSVPs are on and by when, and which template it used.
Select Confirm. It adds the event with RSVPs on, and a calendar first if your club has none. Not now changes nothing.
RSVPs are for members and ask only for a name. The assistant never makes up a date, time or place, and doesn’t plan repeating, ticketed or paid events: it offers to plan the first date instead.
A cap on numbers, a waitlist and an RSVP-by deadline need the Basic plan or higher. Unless your club’s plan includes them, the assistant proposes plain RSVPs with none of these and tells you a higher plan adds them.
If something goes wrong
There’s no assistant button. An admin may have turned the assistant off. They can turn it back on under Configuration › Club, in Features: turn on Assistant. Until then, add the event yourself in Calendars.
I can’t start “<job>”: this club has switched off the part of LongTable it uses. Calendars is off. An admin can turn it on in Configuration › Club.
This club has used its AI credits, so I can’t answer anything new. A change already proposed above can still be confirmed. Add the event yourself in Calendars, or wait for your AI credits to reset next month.
Some steps were done and some weren’t. The ones that were done stay done. The event was added, but a later part, such as turning on RSVPs, wasn’t done. If the assistant offers to try the rest again, confirm that. Otherwise open the event in Calendars and turn on RSVPs yourself.
